Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Life in UK Made Easy website. Please read them. By using the site you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Life in UK Made Easy (lifeinuk-madeeasy.com) is run by Gaurav Dewan, an independent developer in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@somewherein.city.
2. What the site is
The site helps you prepare for the Life in the UK test with practice questions, mock tests, flash cards and a study plan. We are not part of the Home Office or any government body, and we do not run the test. We work hard to keep the content correct, but we cannot promise it is free of mistakes, and we cannot promise that you will pass. The official handbook is the final source.
3. Your account
When you first visit, the site makes an anonymous account for you. You can sign in with your email so you can use the same account on other devices. Keep access to your email safe: anyone who can open your sign-in links can use your account.
4. Free and Full access
Part of the site is free. Full access opens everything, and is a subscription: £7.99 a week after a 7-day free trial. The price and the trial are shown before you pay, on the checkout page. We may limit the free trial to one per person.
5. How the subscription works
- You start the free trial on Square's secure checkout page and give a payment card. You pay nothing during the 7 free days.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged £7.99 at the end of the trial and then every week, until you cancel.
- Square, our payment processor, takes the payments. Prices include any VAT that applies.
- If a weekly payment fails, Full access stops until the payment goes through. Square may try the payment again.
- If we change the price, we will tell you by email before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, with one tap: open Settings and tap Cancel subscription. There is no form and no call. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the trial or the week you are in. You keep Full access until then, and you will not be charged again. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged at all.
7. Using the site fairly
The site is for your own personal study. Please do not:
- copy, sell or share the questions, explanations or other content;
- use automated tools to download content from the site;
- try to get Full access without paying, or interfere with the site's security.
If you break these terms, we may stop your access.
8. Our content
The questions, explanations, study plans and design of the site belong to us or to the people who license them to us. Using the site does not give you any rights in them beyond personal study.
9. Changes to the site and to these terms
We may improve or change the site, and sometimes it may be unavailable for a short time. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you on the site or by email before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
10. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to follow these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our failure. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
11. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
12. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can decide any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
